FLETC Artesia, The Border Patrol Academy The FLETC Faciltity is Up and Running in Artesia! One of three Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers in the United States, the FLETC Artesia facility was formerly the Artesia Christian College, and is comprised of 2,540 acres. FLETC Artesia was acquired in 1989, and has been used as an Air Marshall Training Academy (Shortly after 9/11). Federal Flight Deck Officer Training moved to Artesia in 2003, and in 2004 the United States Border Patrol moved the Border Patrol Academy to Artesia consolidating all of it's training the FLETC-Artesia facility. The facilities at FLETC Artesia include a 164 room (Double Occupancy) dormitory, a 76 room (Single Occupant) dormitory, and a newer 286 room (Single Occupant) dormitory. According to our math, this gives the FLETC Artesia facility a 690 student capacity on the campus. Border Patrol Academy Instructors are usually left to find accommodations outside the grounds. While several choose to stay a local hotels, others typically rent furnished rental homes in the Artesia area. The campus in Artesia is well equipped with two driving courses, fire-arms facilities, a state of the art fitness center, new dinning hall, recreation areas for the students and a convenience store. We are told by our sources that the FLETC facility in Artesia, New Mexico is completely up and running at full speed. At last report, the facility was near full capacity, with all students and instructors in place.
